The model NSD safety mat is a heavy-duty, flexible safety mat system. This normally open (NO) switch safety mat system delivers dependable machine safeguarding in demanding industrial environments. Paired with a Category 3 safety controller that meets all applicable safety standards, the system is built for reliability and performance.

Advanced Switching Technology

The advanced switching mechanism provides the following:
- Safety mats are designed to interface directly with controllers for normally open (NO) SPST 4-wire safety mat systems.
- Flexible electrodes have a life cycle of over 5,000,000 switch activations.
- The mat electrodes are: Non-Corrosive, Flexible, and Non-Magnetic Anti-Static.
- Safety mats can use AC or DC input power.
- Hermetically sealed sensor system (NEMA 6, IP67).
Durability & Industrial Performance
- The safety mat uses no rigid steel electrodes in the switching mechanism, eliminating components that can rust or dent.
- The safety mat contains no wiring solder joints within the mat assembly that could degrade or short out, as solder joints can fail under loads such as fork truck or hand cart traffic.
- Flexible electrodes allow the mat to bend without kinking or shorting out, unlike rigid steel electrodes.
- Designed specifically for the rigorous industrial environment.
- No vacuum seal to break, eliminating rust formation and the potential for dead zones.
